if there are items worn on avatars from older than the client you want the avatar to render in, can you remove it from the avatar?

how would this in specific benefit anyone? im also confused on what you meanlets say i have an item from 2012, and im wearing it on my avatar. someone decides to render avatars for them from 2010. it would look unrealistic, so what im saying is that if that specific person rendered my avatar from 2010 my avatar should keep all the items from 2010, and remove any items made a few years (or a year) after 2010. basically like that
