i guess, early would be more 2008-like, and later would be more like 2010. you also gotta take security into consideration, cuz older clients had lots of vulnerabilities.
If 2009E, 2009M or 2009L gets implemented then they gotta make castle.dll (the anticheat of austiblox) work on one of those clients (2009E, 2009M or 2009L)
