These kinds of posts usually are not a thing that happens for ACH, but considering how different this is going to be from regular ACH posts, I figured I mind as well use the forums.
This article is going to be split into two sections. The first will cover the gameplay experience of the games themselves, while the second will revolve around the realistic airline roleplay you can expect from Amity Airlines.
SECTION 1: HUH, THAT'S A COOL GAME.
Funnily enough, until recently, I had no idea this community even existed. The only reason I even uncovered it is because I was looking thru the games page one day and saw Austiflight. The game consists of a small city area, an airport, two planes, and an aircraft carrier. Fairly bare bones, but the flight system is unique and fleshed out, including stalls, taxiing, and a mouse-based steering system. The map itself has very well made buildings and models, although while still definitely feeling a bit empty, it is to be expected due to how new Austiflight is. As RadioMiami, the developer, puts it:
"(Austiflight is) where anyone can jump in and fly whenever they want, no hiring or training required, just a fun, casual flying experience."
As a small brag, here's me after landing a plane on the aircraft carrier first try. pretty cool, huh?
SECTION 2: WAIT, A ROLEPLAY COMMUNITY?
After I first played Austiflight, I went directly to RadioMiami's profile to ask him for permission to use his game for ACH. However, visiting his profile made me discover an entire community dedicated to realistic airline roleplay, including pilots, passangers, and more. Quoting RadioMiami again,
"It's a realistic airline experience where we operate scheduled flights with a professional staff team. Passengers join our flights and enjoy the journey to their destination, while anyone interested in becoming a pilot must go through our training program before flying for us."
The airline roleplay group has actually only started initial flights about a week ago, but has been incredibly successful for them! Here's an example provided by RadioMiami themselves!
Being a public game, anyone can join in during a flight if they wish (as long as they join the Amity Airways group first), but if you want to actually play a part on maintaining the plane, instead of just being a passenger, it's a bit more complicated than just pressing a couple buttons. Amity Airways has a full application system for pilots, flight attendants, and ground operators! You can apply on their discord server, which is linked in their group bio! You can join the group here!
CONCLUSION:
The TLDR of all of this is basically: Go check out Amity Airways! We don't get many roleplay groups on here, so if you like that kind of thing, it's a great opportunity! And if you've never even roleplayed before, it's a good chance to give it a try!
