theres little to no distortion and no noise because this is a attempt at simulating a clean vhs tape effect. a damaged one would've been alot harder, but couldve been easier if obs supported reshade

When I was a kid (almost) all my movies/shows were on old VHS tapes. So pretty much all of them were dirty lol. Pretty cool though!

thanks. i also updated the effect to have the play text but unfortunately i cant get it to appear for only 2 seconds when recording, and also moved the effects to the group thing so i dont have to put the effect on each separate part. (and i also added a overlay, but a good one becuase it doesnt use too much noise and artifacts it just uses barely any of it, and i use blending mode to make it a bit harder to notice) and also a screenbug thing! i wish there was a easy to use free vhs program that actually aims to be as accurate and faithful as possible to an actual vhs tape while being as optimized as possible so it doesnt become a ram eater like ntscqt and mostly avisynth. ntscqt is very accurate but it doesnt really have a good bad tracking thing. if it ever happens they should hire ppl who have good adknowledge about how a real vhs tape looks, so that no one will have to resort to cheap overlays, having to find an old man's garage sale and *cough cough* rarevision again. (well i think it could be only for pc and maybe mac because i dont think the optimizing would be that possible for mobile devices

and maybe some stuff from true vhs but without the stingy af subscriptions
obs kinda makes big MB videos when i record one longer than 15 seconds but i still use it a bit to experiment with it, i currently use avidemux's vhs effect (of course it has flaws but i also put some extra effects to make it look better than it does on its own)
(kinda surprising how almost no one adknowledges that avidemux has a vhs effect, like only one or two people made tests with it on youtube.)
