I haven't got it just yet, ordered it for delivery and should be getting it tomorrow. got it in a bundle with mario kart world so I'm pretty stoked to try it out, also want to play splatoon 3 and eventually get splatoon raiders. mario kart world is pretty much the only switch 2 game I'll have on it (so far).

im not sure if anyone would like to agree with me, but i wanna get a wii u. its just that the menu looks so relaxing and whats the point of getting a switch? all the ports r on the wii u. even miiverse 2. (i know they closed it u can get it back with pretendo now) and the fact that it has a handheld too.

the wii u has the inferior version of smash and mario kart. you can not get smash ult or deluxe on the wii u. most of the ports on switch actually do have improvements over the wii u counterpart. and ofc there are switch exclusive games that you wouldnt wanna miss (emulation is possible, however). the switch, as far as we know, has no intentions of going offline either! the wii u is already offline and you need to mod it to get back online. those are a few reasons as much as I love the wii u

also the wii u is not handheld the same way the switch is. you can only go so far with that clunky gamepad until it disconnects from the console itself. had a wii u since day 1

Honestly, if you've never had a normal Wii or currently do not have one, a Wii U would be a good console to buy. The only problem is I'm not sure a lot of games have live service anymore/a lot of people who play on live service other than maybe Mario Kart. It's pretty much a normal Wii built into another console with newer games. Got a Wii U myself after my normal Wii broke when I was a kid for Christmas and loved playing Mario Party, Mario Kart 8 and Splatoon

Also, there are a lot of points to getting a Switch. One point in particular: new mainstream Nintendo games with active communities like Mario Kart 8 Deluxe/World, Splatoon 2/3 and Smash. Also it's just more up to date, less likely to find games losing live service anytime soon
